This year we are planning on doing the Early CA History and the Old West Tour

EARLY CALIFORNIA AND THE OLD WEST – Let our Ghost Town transport your students back in time as they explore what life was like for the early residents of California and the Old West. While showcasing the diverse people who made up our communities, this tour will give students the opportunity to meet a variety of individuals, such as Nancy Kelsey and a Fur Trapper: as well as learn how these different groups of people contributed to the creation of California and other western states.
Your group will visit our authentic Schoolhouse, meet our resident Blacksmith, and encounter a Fur Trapper who’s just passing through town! Along the way, students will discover how different cultural groups contributed to the development of California and the western United States.

After the tour, students can enjoy the park until closing.

December outreach project

Picture
For the month of December we have a fun outreach project for our students. We will be challenging them to bring in money to bless people living in poverty with livestock through either World Vision or Samaritan's Purse.

The goal is for our students to fundraise or bring in chore money that they have earned to support this ministry. Each class will have a collection box and kids will get to see how much they have brought in. On the lasy day of school before Christmas break, Thursday 12/18, the students will vote in their class how to spend the funds they have raised to bless others during this Christmas season.

**If your student is bringing in a lot of coins, please pre count the coins and put them in a marked baggie**

The last day to send donations is the morning of Thursday 12/18.

Here is a link to the animals, agriculture, and livestock program with Samaritan's Purse as well as World Vision.

Operation christmas child

November 20th collection day

CCH is happy to again support and be part of the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox project this holiday season!
At our Awards Chapel on Thursday 10/30 the students will get a quick introduction to what OCC is and how we will be supporting the project by filling up shoeboxes for children. Here is a link to the video they are going to watch.

The kids will bring home with them a cardboard shoebox provided by Coast Hills Church to our school. As you can see on the video, you don’t have to use the cardboard box provided, it could be any shoebox sized box. If you decide not to use the box, we will ask you to return it to us so we can give back to the church. And if you decide to make more shoeboxes please let us know and we be happy to provide you more boxes. A little advice, if your shoebox gets too full and hard to close maybe you are able to make two shoeboxes instead of one and help two different kids.

National Collection week is on November 18th-21th. The kids will return the shoeboxes on November 20 th and together the classrooms take turns praying over the shoeboxes.

If you want to explore and understand more this project please visit website:

And here is the link with all the instructions regarding boxes, items for the inside, labels, postage, and tracking.

Thank you so much for being part of this wonderful project and bringing the gospel to the kids all over the world.

Our goal is to collect 120 boxes this year!

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.  - Isaiah 9:6-7

HIKING DAY

Hiking at Torrey Pines State Beach
September 23 at 11:00am meet in the parking lot
Start the hike at 11:30am

Torrey Pines State Beach
12600 North Torrey Pines Rd

Parking fee is $12 or a valid CA state beach pass.
Here is a link to the state beach website with more info:
https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=658

We will do the Beach Trail Loop, which is about 2.3 miles and 350 ft of gain. The tide will be falling so as long as it is low enough we’ll start on the beach headed south to flat rock. From there we will take the staircase up into the cliffs to the visitor center which we can stop and check out. From the visitor center we will walk down the road back to the parking lot. If the tide is too high at the start we’ll go backwards starting up the hill along the road towards the visitor center and finishing the loop along the beach.

Bring: Water! There's no water along the trail. Snacks, you aren’t supposed to eat in the reserve, only on the beach. The trail is well maintained so hiking shoes aren’t necessary, any athletic shoe will be fine. Hat if its sunny, the trail is very exposed. There are bathrooms at the parking lot and at the visitor center. Here is a link to the all trails trail description as well:
